Who can use this feature?
Only the Application Owner role can use this feature.
What is it?
Users can only access the ITONICS application if they have a global user role assigned. Once you have created user roles, you can start defining the entity-specific permissions and the system-level permissions.
Entity-specific permissions are dedicated to the individual entity types you have configured for your system. This gives you the specific control of handling permissions differently for each entity.
How does it work?
You can find all entity-related permissions under the Settings Wheel > Entity Configuration > Entity Configuration. Find the entity from the list of entities for which you want to check or alter the permission settings and click on the lock icon or go to edit and then click on the tab Permission Configuration.
You will now find the permission table of the specific entity which includes in the columns the roles defined and in the rows the respective permissions. By checking/unchecking the boxes, you change the permission configuration. Hit "save permissions" and the changes will come directly into effect across the whole platform.
Please also note that besides the entity-specific permission scheme, the ITONICS system also offers options for local permissions, e.g., permissions that can be granted just to specific users or content elements.
