Exporting content as xls or pdf

What is it?

Of course, content is the lifeblood of your ITONICS system, but you can also work on it outside the platform. You can easily export your content as Excel or PDF.

How does it work?

Exporting single content elements

  1. Go to the detail page of an Element by clicking on the Element that you wish to export.
  2. Locate the actions menu on the top right and select Export to xlsx (all data) icon (1) or Export to PDF icon (2).
  3. The download will start automatically.

Bulk exporting content elements

  1. Open the Explorer.
  2. Select at least one content element by clicking on the white space of a content card
  3. Click the Export icon in the actions menus which then appears
  4. Choose between Export to PDF, Export to xlsx or Export to xlsx (all data).

Please note: A pdf export is possible with a maximum of 10 elements.

Please note: Depending on your browser settings, the PDF document might be downloaded directly. Adjust the browser settings, e.g., in Google Chrome “Default Behavior: Open PDFs in Chrome” to prevent PDFs from being downloaded right away, but instead show a preview version in the browser.

Difference between Export to xlsx and Export to xlsx (full data):

  • Export xlsx will export only the Element profile and meta-information about user activities like number of likes, number of relations, number of comments, etc.
  • Export xlsx (all data) will additionally export table data, Roadmap data, and Milestone data if the respective modules Table Configuration or Roadmap were used in connection with the Element(s)

5. The export will be prepared in the background and once ready, you will get a notification in the notification center.

Please note: In Edge browser, you need to turn off Open Office files in the browser, clear browser cache and turn off all office packages in desktop. Otherwise, no .xlsx file will be created which is needed to open the file in Excel. To do so you need to open the Edge browser and go to Settings (1) >> Downloads (2) >> Open Office files in the browser (3).

Please note: Comments will not be exported.

Please also note that information sourced from an activated Crunchbase integration will not be included in an export file due to copyright protection agreements.
