Upcoming release - Enterprise 3.25.0 - Gifted Grapefruit (by beginning of Q3 2026)

More granular Entity Configuration permissions

To support complex organizational structures, we are breaking down the global permission to administer the Entity Configuration into granular, entity-type specific controls. This will allow you to distribute configuration tasks across different teams, ensuring that the right stakeholders have the autonomy to refine their specific entity setups without requiring global admin intervention. Important note: To support diverse organizational needs, the platform will maintain the current centralized global permission structure, while allowing the new alternative administrative “mode” to help more decentralized  entity type administration.

Mirroring API and application-level permissions

We are introducing enhanced Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for the ITONICS REST API to ensure data remains secure and confidential. With this update, API access will be able to strictly mirror application-level permissions, e.g. if a user role is restricted from viewing specific content in the web application—such as a certain technology or trend—they will not be able to bypass these restrictions via direct API calls.

Besides, you may already anticipate the following:

API

• Optimizing API performance and data retrieval by utilizing a new, dedicated GET endpoint for consistent access to full rating history across all entity types.

• Enabling more seamless, automated roadmap planning by programmatically updating roadmap elements, milestones, and connections via a new API PUT endpoint.

Board

• Enabling numeric input fields (single-line input fields) for board card labels to display key data, such as budget information, directly within your Kanban view.

Campaigns

• Empowering Campaign Managers by now automatically granting them Excel and PDF export rights for submissions within their specific campaign(s) through the existing Inherit submission-level permissions setting.

• Streamlining campaign collaboration and oversight by decoupling Author permissions from Creator status and granting Campaign Managers full administrative field visibility.

Permissions

• Enabling greater flexibility and granular control by defining Excel and PDF export rights individually for each entity type within your Innovation OS.

Roadmap

• Implementing a dedicated "Presentation Mode”  that expands labels to full width and automatically adjusts swimlanes for maximum legibility to optimize your roadmap presentations.

• Improving the visual clarity of your roadmaps by applying data-driven coloring to milestones, allowing for easier tracking of milestone status.

• Allowing to lock finalized milestones against unintentional changes once they reach a "signed-off" or completed state, e.g. to protect the integrity of strategic decisions.

UX/UI

• Optimizing the configuration interface for segment fields to provide a more intuitive administrative experience, making it easier to configure and manage field options for segment fields.

• Redesigning the configuration UI for the rating configuration (regular rating config and submission rating config) to ensure a more intuitive configuration experience.

Date picker reminder improvements

We are enhancing the date picker reminder feature to allow for multiple, independent reminders per date picker field, enabling different email templates to be sent to various recipient groups for the same deadline. This improvement enables more targeted reminder workflows. Furthermore, "after-deadline" triggers will be supported to assist in tracking overdue tasks and escalating missed milestones effectively.

Enhanced Value Change and Value Add workflow triggers

We are upgrading the Value Change and Value Add workflow triggers to support the simultaneous update of multiple fields and values within a single action. This enhancement provides greater flexibility for complex workflows and branching scenarios, allowing for more sophisticated automation of your stage-gate-processes. By enabling multi-select field updates, administrators can now streamline data transitions and ensure value updates with significantly less configuration overhead.

Campaigns

• Redesigning the campaign phase overview to provide a more intuitive and streamlined user experience.

Entity configuration

• Introducing more granular access control for the Review feature, allowing you to assign specific users, groups, or contexts to review workflows instead of relying solely on global roles, and include notification improvements  to foster a collaborative review process.

Roadmap

• Implementing a new functionality called Roadmap Manager, which allows for more granular management of roadmaps, by assigning a dedicated user to manage a particular roadmap.

UX/UI

• Updating the design of our system email notifications to feature a more modern, professional aesthetic.

• Enhancing platform usability with a visual refresh of configuration pages, designed to improve clarity and modernize look and feel of the Innovation OS.

• Implementing a redirect from the roadmap tab to easily pre-filter a roadmap view based on a particular for element and its direct connections, allowing you to conveniently assess connection depth.

• Enhancing and strengthening roadmap governance with a new approval workflow for connections, ensuring that only validated dependencies are reflected in your strategic planning.

User management

• Allow the provision of further user information on user cards shown on hovering a user search field in the view form for flexibility and understandability.
