Set up and manage banners

Banners are displayed in the Home section of your ITONICS landing page. You can use them to communicate important or exciting information, e.g., current innovation events, or to promote your innovation activities.

Adding a new banner

To add a new banner, go to Settings > System Administration > Landing Page > Banner Management.

Then Click the Add Banner button on the left side of the form. Start by filling in the mandatory fields:

  • Choose a title. (1)
  • Select if the title should be visible on the banner. (2)
  • Select the status of the banner. (3)
  • Choose an image (=banner). (4)
  • Add an abstract. (5)
  • Click on save. (6)

You can add an abstract (any additional text) to your new banner or upload an image that includes the text.

Add links to a banner

If you want to provide your users with a link on the banner, you can choose between three different possibilities:

Use the whole banner as link

  1. Create a transparent rectangle, that has the same size properties as the banner.
  2. Insert it into the abstract section. 
  3. Mark the whole abstract section (Shortcut: Ctrl+A).
  4. Click on the Insert Link option.
  5. Paste in the link that users should reach and how it should be opened. 
  6. Save the changes.

Use link texts

  1. Go to the abstract section.
  2. Write the text that you want to display as a link on the banner.
  3. Mark the link text.
  4. Click on the Insert Link option. 
  5. Paste in the link that users should reach and how it should be opened.
  6. Choose the right location.
  7. Save the changes.

Use link buttons

  1. Create a button design (e.g. in PowerPoint), that you want to use as a button on the banner and save it as a jpg-file.
  2. Go to the abstract section.
  3. Paste in the button image.
  4. Choose the right location.
  5. Mark the image.
  6. Paste in the link that users should reach and how it should be opened.
  7. Save the changes.

Note: If you add more than one banner, they would be displayed in rotation following the order you selected. There is no limitation in terms of the total number of banners you can add.

Managing banners

To manage existing banners, go to Settings > System Administration > Landing Page > Banner Management.

You can activate, deactivate, or delete existing banners. To do so, select a banner or banners (1) and click on the drop-down menu on the right to choose an action (2). When ready, click the update button (3). You can also edit or remove an existing banner by clicking the pen or trash icon on the right side of the banner name (4).
