How does the new Settings wheel navigation look like?

With the 3.22.0 major release, ITONICS has updated the structure of the Settings wheel, which can be reached via the gear icon in the top right corner of the page. Due to the deprecated settings structure having missed following a clear understandable logic, such as ordering by alphabet or relevance, only listing the most important configurations on the first level, the decision was taken to update the structure.

Please note: The visibility of the navigation items is of course dependent on your user role and the module being enabled within the individual ITONICS system. Generally, this article targets Application Owners.

Generally, the main adjustments / updates include

  • Stripping back the first level navigation to only comprise the most important configuration,

  • Ordering all configurations / sub-navigation items alphabetically within one navigation item,

  • And updating the label of some configurations to be more descriptive, e.g. Segment changed to Segment Configuration, etc.

Thereby, this article provides a comprehensive overview of the mapping between the old structure and the updated one to facilitate navigation. Note that alongside this article, all remaining knowledge base articles mentioning navigation through the settings wheel have been updated alongside this FAQ article.

  1. Entities: no changes applied

  2. Entity Configuration:

    • Changed the ordering to alphabetic,

    • And updated the title of Segment to Segment Configuration

  3. Export / Import Data:

    • Re-ordered alphabetically below the Entity Configuration

    • Further, re-ordered the different export and import sub-navigation items alphabetically within the Export / Import Data nav item

    • Placed the Excel Export / Import Numeric Field Data export within the Export / Import Data nav item

  4. Logs:

    • Kept as a first level navigation item, comprising all relevant logging pages, incl. Mail Logs (updated the label and its placement) and Integration Logs, a new sub-navigation item covering

      • The Crunchbase Logs, Salesforce Logs, Tracxn Logs, and Trendone Logs (all alphabetically ordered and with an updated label)

  5. System Administration: alphabetically re-ordered, now comprising all extended configurations, i.e. those previously residing on the first level navigation, such as the Custom Menu Configuration

    1. API Management:

      • New sub-navigation item, and alphabetically re-ordered to the top

    2. Brand Management:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered

    3. Budget Management:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item, and updated the label from Manage Budget

    4. Campaign Management:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item

      • Updated the label to Campaign Management and re-ordered the sub-navigation items alphabetically

      • Added the Campaign label to Campaign Phases and Campaign Rating Criteria respectively

    5. Cookies, Privacy, Terms & Conditions Management:

      • Added as a new sub-navigation item comprising the Cookies, Privacy, Terms & Conditions, and Label configuration,

      • And added the Management label

    6. Custom Menu Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item

    7. Dashboard Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered

    8. Email Notifications:

      • Added as a new sub-navigation item comprising the Email Actions, and Email Template Configuration (updated label) sub-configurations,

      • And added the Notifications label

    9. Explorer Menu Configuration:

      • Updated the label from Manage Explorer Menu to Explorer Menu Configuration, and re-ordered the nav item alphabetically

    10. Gamification Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item

    11. Global Variable Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item,

      • And added the Configuration label

    12. Help Portal:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item

    13. Landing Page Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered, and updated the label to Landing Page Configuration

      • Added two new sub-navigation items to distinguish between Custom Landing Page Configuration (incl. Widget Configuration) and Standard Landing Page Configuration (incl. Landing Page Entity, Menu, and Order configurations)

    14. Login Page Background Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered

    15. Newsletter Management:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added to the System Administration navigation item,

      • And added the Management label

    16. Roadmap Management:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item, and added the Management label

      • Re-ordered its sub-navigation items alphabetically and updated the bales of the Layer Management and the Milestone Type Configuration

    17. Tag Management:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered

    18. Task Backlog Configuration:

      • Alphabetically re-ordered and added under System Administration navigation item, and added the Configuration label

  6. User Configuration:

    • Alphabetically re-ordered to the bottom half, and updated the sub-navigation item to User Field Configuration

  7. User Management:

    • No real change, ensured that alphabetically ordered at the end

Be aware that no configuration previously available has been removed, merely the placement adjusted to follow a logical ordering, ultimately increasing the clarity, overview, and understandability of the Settings wheel navigation.
